What is Kagaio

Kagaio is a tool to help make you more competitive when applying for a job posting. It identifies the the keywords in the job posting so you can tailor your resume to reflect the language that the job poster used. The tool is intended to assist you in choosing the correct words to use in your resume, it's not intended to create a resume with false experience.

How to use Kagaio

Using Kagaio is straight forward. Copy the important parts of your resume while excluding non-essential sections. So, only copy your experience, education, summary and skills areas! Paste this into the text area in the Resume card.

Next, copy the job posting into the text area of the Job Description card. Only copy the summary, minimum qualifications and ideal qualifications sections. Be certain to include all skills from the job posting.

Press the Get Results button then review your results in the Skills Match Results card. Scroll down to Skills Match Results card. The app lists all the important hard skill and soft skill keywords as well as how many (percentage) of those keywords are present in you resume.

What's a good score

So far the industry looks for about 80% match for hard skills. The match for soft skills is not as rigid and it varies depending on the company you're applying at.

How to improve your score

If you have the skills and it's a matter of word choice, this is where this application shines. Simply reword your experience using the keywords mentioned in the job description. Do not add keywords to your resume if you lack the experience to back it up just to improve your score. This is unethical and could result in your termination should you get said job and your company discovers you fabricated your resume.
